Two-time WNBA champion and former Detroit Shocks star Kara Braxton, who was among the kindest WNBA players ever, has died at the age of 43.
The terrible news was never expected and shocked the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), as well as all Kara Braxton supporters and loved ones, when it was announced to the public on Sunday, February 22.
She died, according to investigators, from serious injuries sustained in a deadly vehicle collision in Atlanta, Georgia.
Kara was adored in the basketball community and a fantastic athlete. Her inspirational journey in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) and her commanding presence on the floor made her well-known.
She played for the Detroit Shock, Tulsa Shock, Phoenix Mercury, and New York Liberty throughout her ten-season career.
She was a wonderful friend to many and one of the loveliest, most compassionate people one could ever meet. Both her incredible family and the WNBA community are devastated by her demise.
Investigations into the cause of the fatal vehicle accident are still ongoing.
