Janarious Wheeler "Lil Poppa" has died at 25



On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office verified Jacksonville rapper Janarious "Lil Poppa" Wheeler's passing. At the age of 25, Lil Poppa went away on Wednesday at 11 a.m.


According to TMZ, there is a report that he committed suicide, although the cause has not yet been disclosed.

Before his untimely death, Lil Poppa was supposed to perform at the Fillmore in New Orleans, Louisiana, in March.

Poppa joined Interscope in 2019 after becoming well-known in the late 2010s for his Under Investigation mixtape series and the projects Almost Normal and Evergreen Wildchild 2.

In 2022, Poppa joined Yo Gotti's CMG record label. Under the label, he put out two albums, Heavy Is the Head and Under Investigation 3.



This past February, he released his latest hit, "Out of Town Bae." In addition, he released a music video for the song.

His admirers, family, and friends are currently perplexed as to what might have happened to him.
