Dayton James Webber, a 27-year-old quadruple amputee who was well-known for motivating thousands of people as a professional cornhole player, is now accused of something unimaginable. On March 22, 2026, he was taken into custody on suspicion of shooting Bradrick Michael Wells, 27, following a fight in his car.
Witnesses were in the back seat of Webber's Tesla SUV when the event occurred, according to a preliminary inquiry. After stopping, he asked the two witnesses in the backseat to assist in removing Wells from the vehicle. They got out of the car and called the police after refusing.
They claimed that Wells' body was still in the car when Webber drove off.
Officers from the Charles County Sheriff's patrol arrived and helped search the areas where Webber might have escaped. A resident in Charlotte Hall, Maryland's 10000 block of Newport Church Road reported a body in a yard to 9-1-1 about two hours later.
When police arrived, they discovered the victim, 27-year-old Waldorf resident Bradrick Michael Wells, who was declared dead at the spot. After obtaining an arrest warrant, detectives from the Charles County Sheriff's Office found Webber's vehicle in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Webber was discovered seeking medical attention at a local hospital.
After being discharged from the hospital, Webber was apprehended by Albemarle County Police Department officers and accused as a fugitive from justice.
First-degree murder, second-degree murder, and other relevant charges will be brought against him.
Many people find it hard to believe what Webber was like before to these accusations.
He wasn't your average person.
He was well-known across the country as a professional cornhole player who, after losing all four limbs as a baby due to a serious infection, triumphed over overwhelming odds.
He even told his tale in public, mentioning how doctors originally estimated his chances of survival at just 3%.
The investigation into what might have caused his behavior during the altercation with Wells is still in progress.
