Heavy Police Presence at Suny Erie Campus in Erie County


Around 10:25 a.m. on Friday, May 1, police reacted to a gun call on campus. Following several investigations and confirmations, police declared that "there is nothing to indicate." Reports state that there was a gunman on the SUNY Erie downtown campus.

The SUNY Erie City Campus switchboard received a call stating that someone had been spotted in the Post Office Building brandishing a gun.

After sweeping the building, law enforcement personnel securely removed people who were taking refuge off campus. No gun-wielding individual was discovered following the search.
