Authorities are looking into the possibility that Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke overdosed after discovering drug paraphernalia in the residence where he was staying.

On Monday, May 11, at approximately 5:00 PM, the Los Angeles Fire Department received a medical emergency call. When paramedics arrived, Clarke was declared dead. He was 29 years old. The public was informed of his passing by the Memphis Grizzlies.

At age three, Brandon relocated to Arizona. 2015 saw him graduate from Desert Vista High School. On the court, he was a beast! He went to Gonzaga after attending San Jose St. He was selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder with the 21st pick in 2019 before being traded to the Memphis Grizzlies!

In his rookie season, Clarke was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team after being chosen in the first round of the 2019 NBA Draft. He averaged 10.2 points and 5.5 rebounds per game during his seven seasons with Memphis.

"Brandon was an outstanding teammate and an even better person whose impact on the organization and the greater Memphis community will not be forgotten," the Grizzlies said in a statement.
