The public was informed via a Facebook post at around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, that the body of Yadira Hernández Castro, an 18-year-old Mexican woman who vanished on the day of the winter storm in the Charlotte/Concord area of North Carolina, had been located.

Her body was found frozen solid in the Charlotte snowstorm snowfall this past weekend, according to authorities. As of yet, no foul play has been found.

Yadira was last seen strolling by herself around 10:00 p.m. in downtown Concord, close to Academy Street and Crowell Drive, before she vanished.

Her cell phone was discovered in an abandoned store during the two days that her family reportedly spent looking for her without luck.

Keep her family and friends in your thoughts during this difficult time as they deal with an unfathomable loss.

While the investigation is ongoing, authorities ask anyone with information to call the Concord Police Department at 704-960-5112.
