Joseph Andrew Bragg Identified As Man Who Abducted 7-year-old Brynlee Nelson

The person responsible for the disappearance of 7-year-old Brynlee Nelson is identified as Joseph Andrew Bragg. Some claim that Joseph Bragg "met" her mother using a dating app. Although they never met in person, he planned this because he was interested in the family, particularly Brynlee.

At around 12:34 a.m. on January 22, Albert Lea Police received a report about a car heading south on Interstate 35 that might be connected to the ongoing AMBER Alert. After finding the car in the Albert Lea region, the officers stopped it.

Officers verified that Brynlee Nelson, a little girl, was inside the car during the inquiry. Joseph Andrew Bragg, a 28-year-old Maple Grove resident, was arrested when she was safely found.

After being sent to the Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for a medical assessment, Brynlee was eventually reunited with her family.

Mayo Ambulance Service and the Freeborn County Sheriff's Office provided assistance to the ALPD.
