Owen Tillman Kenney, a 19-year-old CofC student who went missing on Friday, October 31, at 3:49 a.m., committed suicide by stepping onto the Ravenel Bridge pedestrian walkway, according to police.
This afternoon, Thursday, October 6, the Charleston Police Department declared that they are now focused on recovery activities instead of search operations.
Friends and family have been shocked by the tragic news due to updates from many sources on various platforms. However, not much information has yet been made public. However, the Charleston Police Department is currently making every effort to retrieve his body.
The public will be informed as additional information is confirmed, but the investigation is still ongoing and no one is currently able to determine the true motivation behind his acts.
