On Tuesday, October 7, 2025, 17-year-old Kimora Robinson, a senior at South Central High School and a native of Winterville, North Carolina, died as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident.
The terrible vehicle collision reportedly occurred on Forlines Road close to South Central High School. Her automobile was hit by another car as she attempted to turn left onto Forlines Road from the school parking lot.
"Winterville/South Central friends. How do we come together for change regarding that turn out at South Central High School? It is so dangerous and now we’ve lost a student. Either we need a no left turn allowed (unless someone is directing traffic), a stop sign, or cut the trees down. Something has to change. We have to prevent this from happening again. Is this a School Board request? PTA? Dr Cayton request?"
On Wednesday, October 8, Chena Cayton, the principal of South Central High School, expressed her condolences to the family of the deceased.
Be aware that the principal and a chaplain will give additional information about how staff and students are mourning at around 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
"My heart is aching for the Robinson family on the loss of their child due to a motor vehicle accident yesterday. I cannot thank Principal Cayton of South Central High School, the other administrators and staff, as well as our Pitt County School’s Superintendent and Leadership Team for their compassionate response. We have lost students and staff this year due to a variety of reasons. Every loss hurts just as deeply."
Please observe a moment of quiet for the families of Robinson and South Central High School if you can today.
Once verified, more details will be released to the public.
