On Sunday, October 12, 2025, family members announced that, in the presence of loved ones, 38-year-old Brianna Atkins Lee passed away from her terrible injuries.
Only a few miles from her home, on Wednesday, October 8, Brianna, the daughter of Pat Fishel Atkins, was engaged in a head-on collision while returning home from the grocery shop.
After suffering a devastating brain injury in the event, she was airlifted to Novant, where she battled valiantly for her life.
At Charlotte, North Carolina's Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, Brianna is a highly esteemed cardiothoracic physician assistant. Her commitment to her patients, her career, and her community was truly remarkable.
She changed countless lives both inside and outside of the operating room, and she was well-known for her empathy, clinical skill, and uncompromising dedication to care.
A family member claims that since Wednesday night, they have been praying and keeping watch, and an endless stream of individuals have come to convey how her contagious enthusiasm and unshakable faith have impacted their lives. Sadly, she did not make it.
