Authorities identified the lady who was shot dead at a parking lot after a confrontation with 22-year-old Keona Hampton as 41-year-old Cecilia Simpson. The incident occurred in the 3500 block of West Wheatland in Dallas at approximately 1 p.m., according to Dallas Police.
According to reports, Cecilia Simpson, a mother of a 20-year-old child, was shot several times while she was with her child. She was taken to a nearby hospital and subsequently declared dead.
Officials claim that a routine argument about politeness tragically turned into the deadly shooting at the shopping mall in Dallas. Simpson became irritated with Keona Hampton, 22, for not saying "thank you" when he held a door open for her. That was the start of the dispute.
Simpson's 20-year-old daughter allegedly informed police that she was at Five Below, which is located in the same mall as PetSmart, with her mother.

Simpson and her daughter entered the store and informed the staff that Hampton was pursuing them. After that, Hampton went into the shop and began to argue with Simpson's daughter. After that, Hampton walked out of the store and came back a few minutes later.
After an argument broke out between Simpson and Hampton, staff requested them to leave the store.
Outside the store after shooting Simpson and leaving her on the ground with serious injuries to her upper body, Hampton allegedly drove away from the scene in a black Ford Five Hundred captured on surveillance footage.
Dallas police conducted undercover surveillance at the registered owner's driver's license address. Hampton was spotted by officers on an apartment balcony. According to the affidavit, she looked like the person in the CCTV footage and was still dressed in the same clothes.
The black Ford Five Hundred was stopped by Dallas police officers at approximately 7:45 p.m. that same day.

For an interview, Hampton was brought to Dallas Police Headquarters. She acknowledged that she had clashed with Simpson and the witness, that she had gone into PetSmart twice and carried on the dispute, and that she had surrendered her rights.
She said that she got into a fight with Simpson and tossed the drink bottle at her car as she was ready to leave. According to Hampton, she pulled out her gun and shot Simpson when she got into the altercation.
She said to the cops that all she wanted was for Simpson to leave her. Hampton has been placed under arrest at the Dallas County Jail. No bond has been issued for her.
