The case of 39-year-old Chris Palmer, who has been missing for more than a week, has garnered a lot of attention. Since it is not characteristic of Chris to be apart from his family while hiking in the mountains, the National Park Service is asking the public to help his family during this difficult time.
Chris is a seasoned camper who regularly visits national forests; he always acts responsibly and keeps his family updated.
He is characterized as being about five feet six inches tall, Caucasian, and having strawberry-blond hair and blue eyes. On January 9, 2026, he last communicated with family members.
His red 2017 Ford F-250 has been found, but he was nowhere to be found near it. On Monday, January 12, 2026, National Park Service rangers who were stranded on the beach at Cape Hatteras National Seashore found the automobile.
Palmer may still be in the region and is thought to be traveling with his German shepherd.
Anyone with information concerning Palmer's location or who was in the Cape Point region on the evening of January 11, 2026, is urged to come forward or call the NPS Tip Line at 888-653-0009.
Even though there are currently no more facts available, visitor information can be crucial to continuing investigations.
Sharing this story, leaving a comment to increase visibility, or tagging friends in North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, and Tennessee—especially those who live close to Buxton or the Outer Banks—will all help his family.
