Days prior to the incident, 20-year-old West Virginia National Guard member Army Specialist Sarah Beckstrom is believed to have been researched. Some people think it was supposedly planned.
As part of her assigned to defend the nation's capital, she was shot in the line of duty outside the Farragut West Metro station in Washington, D.C., on November 26, 2025, just one day before Thanksgiving.
Since the inquiry is still underway, there are currently no hints as to who might be behind the attack.
Former coworkers recall Spc. Beckstrom as vivacious, humorous, and quick to laugh.
In June 2023, she enlisted in the West Virginia National Guard and was assigned to the 863rd Military Police Company. Many will miss her deeply.
There will be a vigil for for Army Spc. Sarah Beckstrom on Saturday and one tonight in Webster County, West Virginia, according to family members.
