San Bernardino Shooting Suspect Identified as Angelo Jose Saldivar

On Tuesday, October 28, the suspect in the shooting death of Deputy Andrew Nuñez of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Office was identified.

A 47-year-old San Bernardino resident Angelo Jose Saldivar was identified as the alleged shooter and high-speed chase suspect.

According to public records, Angelo seemed to reside on the block where the shooting occurred.

Reports state that while answering to a domestic violence incident on Monday, October 27, 2025, Deputy Andrew Nuñez was shot. When the suspect opened fire, he was hit in the head and passed away in the hospital.

Born and reared in Fontana, Deputy Andrew was a proud local who was very active in the community and had a strong desire to give back to the place that had formed him.

Nunez had been a member of the department for six years. He leaves behind his wife, who is expecting their second child, and their daughter, who is two years old.

To help his family through this terrible time, a support fund has been set up. Any contribution, no matter how modest, will lessen their load and demonstrate that Deputy Nunez's sacrifice will always be remembered.

Any more details will be released as soon as they are verified.
