The Smith family is seeking the public's help in finding their daughter, sister Lia P. Smith, who was last seen on Friday, October 17, 2025, according to the Middlebury police.
At 9 p.m., Lia, a student at Middlebury College, was last observed on campus.
Middlebury College has also asked the public to assist in any way they can with Lia's missing case on their Facebook page, stating that she may be in danger. The Middlebury Police Department (MPD), which is now conducting an investigation and gathering information, is collaborating closely with them.
The Middlebury Police Department is asking anybody with information on Smith or her whereabouts to call them at 802-388-3191 or leave an online report on their website.
Middlebury College Public Safety can also be reached by fellow students at 802-443-5911.
"We will provide additional updates and share more information when we receive it. Our priority now is to work actively with the police department to support their investigation and to offer support resources to our students" the Middlebury Police Department said in their post.
