Philadelphia resident Keon King, 21, has been taken into custody and accused in relation to the disappearance of Kada Scott, 23, who has been missing for over a week.
Authorities say King was the last person known to be in contact with Kada before her phone and social media activity stopped. On Wednesday, October 15, officials held a news conference to announce that Keon King had turned himself in to police on Tuesday, October 14.
Police say Scott is still missing after she disappeared on Saturday, October 4, but King is charged with kidnapping.
On Wednesday, following a tip regarding potential evidence linked to Scott's disappearance, authorities examined the shuttered Ada H. Lewis Middle School located on the 6100 block of Ardleigh Street but nothing was found.
Her vehicle, a 1999 gold Toyota Camry with the license plate MSX-0797, was found in East Falls and is currently undergoing evidence processing. A phone case and a card that are thought to be Kada's have been discovered in an abandoned school close to Germantown.
King's bail amount is $2.5 million.
The FBI is participating in the case, which has been upgraded to the homicide unit (although it is not yet a homicide).
There is a $10,000 prize for reliable information that aids in the return of Kada Scott to her family.
Please spread the word about this post and her photo wherever you can. It's possible that someone knows something, even something minor.
