The public was recently informed a few hours ago that Nolan Xavier Wells, the 18-year-old college football player who went missing after visiting Horn Island, which is close to Ocean Springs, Mississippi, has been discovered dead.

Christine Wonsley, his mother, claims that before he vanished, he was separated from his phone; the phone returned to the mainland, but her son did not. When he departed the island and who he was with when he vanished are still unknown.
Nolan Wells weighs roughly 180 pounds and stands 6'1". He played football for Ocean Springs High School before joining South-west Mississippi Community College as a wide receiver.
He was last spotted wearing sunglasses, a black short shorts, and no shirt on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at around 3:00 p.m.
He was last seen at around 3 p.m. on Saturday after going on a boat trip with friends. The Jackson County Sheriff's Department and the United Cajun Navy reported that they were "talking to a girl" on the north end of Horn Island, a well-known barrier island located roughly ten miles off the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
The U.S. Coast Guard, the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources, the Gulf Islands National Seashore, the Jackson County and Harrison County Sheriff's Departments, and the United Cajun Navy have all participated in the search by land, air, and sea.
