A woman's effort to escape her husband after a domestic abuse event resulted in a quadruple death, ending the entire family in a matter of minutes.
Raven Eagon, mother of two, was gathering her stuff and getting ready to leave a reportedly abusive marriage alongside Dustin Willey, a 29-year-old family friend and father of another kid, who was trying to help her.
Ryan Eagon, her husband, who is said to have parked down the street unexpectedly entered the house when he was expected to be out of town on business. He allegedly started shooting as soon as he entered, taking the life of Willey and Rave's two young children.
Raven lost "her babies, her ex," in a matter of minutes while trying to escape an abusive situation, according to family members.
As a last act of control even in death, loved ones think Ryan spared Raven's life not out of mercy but rather to leave her alive to endure the anguish of losing everything and to emotionally exhaust her.
The entire community has been profoundly affected by this terrible loss. During this extremely trying time, residents are urged to keep the families of the victims, first responders, and everyone impacted in their thoughts and prayers.
The East Theater will host a candlelight vigil on Sunday at 6 p.m. using only battery-operated candles. People from the community are encouraged to come, lend their support, and unite in healing.
